Alex Ross

Alex Ross

Comic Artist, Cover Artist, Painter

Ross paints superheroes as though they were standing in the room: real light, real weight, real fabric. Marvels and Kingdom Come reframed familiar characters as monuments seen from street level, and his covers are now the images many readers picture when they think of these characters at all.

Arthur Adams

Arthur Adams

Comic Artist, Cover Artist, Penciller

Adams packs more detail into a panel than seems reasonable, every scale and rivet accounted for, with a monster-movie enthusiasm running underneath. Longshot and his X-Men work made him a favourite, and his covers are recognisable across a room.

Adam Kubert

Adam Kubert

Comic Artist, Penciller

Adam Kubert draws with thick, expressive line weight and a real feel for impact. His Wolverine and Hulk pages are bruising, and he has moved between Marvel and DC's biggest books for thirty years.

Adi Granov

Adi Granov

Comic Artist, Concept Artist, Cover Artist

Granov's Iron Man looks machined rather than drawn, with hard reflections and precisely engineered surfaces. Iron Man: Extremis set a visual template that carried through to the films, where he worked on concept design.

Andy Kubert

Andy Kubert

Comic Artist, Letterer, Penciller

Andy Kubert stages superhero stories like film, with wide establishing shots, clean sightlines and a steady build to the hit. He drew X-Men through the nineties, then Wolverine: Origin, Marvel 1602, Batman and Son and Flashpoint.

Ali KutluozenVerified

Comic Artist, Illustrator, Writer

A New York and New Jersey-based cartoonist working mostly in black and white, with heavy brush-and-ink drawing and a noir sensibility. His self-published short comics lean on character and mood as much as action, and he sells them directly at conventions alongside original illustrations.
